Since Shibor has been officially issued in January, 2007, the pricing formulation process was refined, and it has been regard more and more as a market benchmark. So far, Shibor has ahcieved the highest market recognition and widest applications as money market benchmark rate.

In order to further guide market rates and the market, to improve price formulation mechanism and to create favorable market conditions for interest rate liberalization, with the approval from PBOC, daily timing of publishing Shibor will be adjusted from 11:30 am to 9:30 am since August 1, 2014. Meanwhile, tenors of Shibor will be simplified further, only include O/N, 1W, 2W, 1M, 3M, 6M, 9M and 1Y.
